Job Description

 

Job Purpose 

To assist the Technical Officer Base Metals and Legacy, carry out geological, mining and metallurgical tasks and contribute to the creation and growth of shareholder value through effective and efficient implementation of ZCCM-IH operational objectives as stipulated in its strategic plan. 

Responsibilities

  1.  Conduct geological, geophysical, geochemical surveys, field trips, exploration drilling, geological core management and logging, mine survey and related program
  2. Undertake geological, ore and mineral process sampling for geochemical and quality control analysis.
  3. Assist with the Interpretation of geological, mining and metallurgical data, finalize maps and process plans as well as provide support data.
  4. Assist in undertaking geological, mining and metallurgical project feasibility assessments.
  5. Assist with exploration, mining and metallurgical project proposal designs, implementation, monitoring and control.
  6. Assist with exploration, mining and metallurgical project budget planning, costing and procurement reviews.
  7. Assist with the preparation and review of exploration, mining and metallurgical annual plans and budgets activities.
  8. Ensure all operations follow acceptable operational health and safety standards always as well as legal/statutory regulations, policies and procedures, codes, professional duties, responsibilities and obligations.
  9. Assist with prudent utilization of resources and effective control of expenses to meet set budgetary controls,
  10. To prepare reports in line with agreed timelines for internal use for submission to management

  11. Always adhere to organizational policies and procedures

  12. Perform any other lawful duties as may be assigned by your supervisor from time to time.

Job Requirements

 

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

GCE or Equivalent with Credits or Better in Five Subjects, Mathematics and English Included

Minimum of Diploma in geology, mining, mineral processing, or related fields

    Bachelor’s Degree in Geology /Mining /Metallurgy or Mineral Processing added advantage.

    Member of the Engineering institution of Zambia

    Registered Engineer with Engineers Registration Board/Geological Society of Zambia
