Job Description

PURPOSE - The objectives are to collect and process records for both temporary and permanent preservation, and to retrieve information that fulfills the informational and research requirements of management, staff, and the academic community.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Collect active and dead files from former ZCCM Limited divisions, subsidiaries and ZCCM-IH directorate
  2.  List all appraised records and put them in Archival storage boxes in readiness for shelving.
  3. Assign location numbers to all boxed records and put them onto the shelves according to their location numbers.
  4. Retrieve information requested by company officials and other information users for consultation.
  5. Taking back to storage boxes all records that were retrieved after consultation.
  6. Enter the logbook every file that is taken out of the repository for consultation and indicate the purpose for use.
  7. Take stock of all company records that are in the repository and verify the indexes against records contained in the storage archival boxes.
  8. Prepare records earmarked for digitisation by cleaning the records and removing the staples.
  9. Any other duties as assigned to you from time to time 
Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

GCE or Equivalent with Credits or Better in Five Subjects, Mathematics and English Included

Minimum a Diploma in library and Information or Records Management or equivalent Professional qualification in the related field

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Not less than 2 Years Work Experience in a busy and complex work environment experience in a similar Position
