Job Purpose
To provide legal administrative and clerical support service to the legal Directorate such as filling court matters, facilitation of service of court process, keeping an update database of all files of active matters, conducting of research on matters and drafting of pleadings.
To Provide support to General Counsel, Legal Manager and Legal Counsel Transactions such as maintain records and diarising calendars as well as tracking departmental tasks.
Key Responsibilities
1.1 Assist in organizing and managing case files, including maintaining an up-to-date filing system, tracking deadlines, and monitoring case progress.
1.2 Assist in the preparation and filing of legal documents with courts, administrative agencies, and other relevant authorities. Ensure compliance with filing deadlines and procedural requirements.
1.3 Conduct legal research to support Legal Counsels in case preparation, analysis, and strategy development.
1.4 Assist in preparation and drafting of opinions, advice and transaction documentation.
1.5 Maintain and update legal databases, conveyancing records, client files, and case records. Ensure data accuracy and confidentiality.
1.1 Create and maintain templates for legal documents and forms to streamline document preparation processes.
1.2 Conduct searches at the courts to enable the company to have the necessary information.
1.3 Procures and files current legislation as amended from time to time, all Company policies and condition of service, all contracts, agreements, transaction documents, Gazette Notices, Court Notices, Notices of the Law Association of Zambia Board Packs, Quarterly reports of Subsidiary and Investee Companies.
1.4 Procure and prepare monthly and quarterly litigation reports for the Counsel's review.
1.5 Provide legal support to the conveyancing process by coordinating the transfer of Deeds of Assignments between the Company and the external legal service providers engaged to conclude the transfer of legacy matters.
1.6 Forward queries and correspondence to external legal service providers engaged to conclude the conveyancing of legacy properties.
1.7 Facilitate the refund of monies paid towards the purchase of legacy properties.

Qualification
Grade Twelve or Equivalent with Credits or Better in Five Subjects, Mathematics and English Included
Minimum Diploma in Law
